Global Head of Biostatistics

Piper Companies is seeking a Global Head of Biostatistics to join a global contract research organization in a permanent, remote executive leadership role. The Global Head of Biostatistics will provide enterprise-level direction for a worldwide biostatistics organization, with full ownership of strategy, commercial performance, and operational scale across regions. This role is focused on leadership, growth, and client partnership rather than hands-on statistical execution.

Responsibilities of the Global Head of Biostatistics include:

• Set and drive the global biostatistics vision, ensuring alignment with broader corporate growth and data science strategies.
• Own full P&L accountability for the biostatistics function, including revenue generation, margin performance, forecasting, and investment decisions.
• Lead and scale a global, multi-regional biostatistics organization with consistent delivery standards, productivity metrics, and quality outcomes.
• Partner with business development and commercial teams to shape statistical approaches in proposals, client presentations, pricing models, and governance discussions.
• Act as an executive sponsor and trusted advisor for key sponsor relationships while representing the organization at industry events and external forums.

Qualifications for the Global Head of Biostatistics include:

• PhD or Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in biostatistics within a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech, or global life sciences environment.
• Demonstrated success leading large, globally distributed teams in a matrixed organization.
• Proven experience with P&L ownership, commercial growth, and senior-level financial accountability.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and external clients.

Compensation for the Global Head of Biostatistics:

Salary Range: $300,000-$325,000/year (USD)

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, sick leave if required by law, and 401K
