European Sovereign Cloud Operations Manager

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!

The Role

• Oversee the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, working closely with global AWS teams.

• Manage and lead operations and development teams focused on delivering high-availability AWS services for EU customers.

• Drive improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of ESC services.

• Collaborate with technology leaders to enhance day-to-day operations and influence service evolution.

• Participate in on-call rotations to resolve incidents and ensure system resilience.

• Script and automate operational processes to improve workflows and system efficiency.

What You'll Need

• Fluency in written and spoken English.

• Residency within the EU is required to operate the AWS European Sovereign Cloud.

• Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering with hardware, software, networking, and operating systems.

• Experience scripting processes in languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby.

• Solid understanding of Linux and networking, with the ability to troubleshoot and anticipate system performance issues.

• Ability to lead the creation and improvement of standard operating procedures and drive best practices.
