Job Description
The Head of Engineering will serve as the foundational technical leader responsible for building and scaling the company’s AI and software capabilities. This is a hands-on leadership role combining architecture, development, and team mentorship in a fast-moving startup environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development of the AI-driven supply chain platform, including data ingestion, pricing optimization, and trade execution systems
- Architect scalable systems for data scraping, aggregation, and decision-making across global suppliers
- Work closely with founders to translate business operations into technical solutions
- Oversee and mentor a junior engineering team (early-career developers)
- Establish engineering best practices, workflows, and technical roadmap
- Act as a founding technical leader, contributing directly to code and product development
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and partnerships to improve end-to-end supply chain execution
- Identify system inefficiencies and build solutions to optimize trade lifecycle performance

Technical Requirements:
- Strong experience in software engineering and system architecture
- Background in AI/ML applications, ideally in optimization, data pipelines, or decision systems
- Experience working with large-scale data ingestion and processing systems
- Ability to build and scale end-to-end platforms (backend-heavy systems)
- Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, marketplaces, or pricing systems (preferred, not required)
Experience:
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience (flexible based on capability)
- Prior experience in a startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred
- Experience in technical leadership or mentorship roles
- Proven ability to operate in early-stage, ambiguous environments
