Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining resources in an AWS cloud environment needed.
Must have experience implementing STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) on Linux systems.
Position requires 24/7 on-call support 1 week per month for Tier 2 support.

As an AWS Systems Administrator – Level 2 or 3, you will be supporting our Software and Electronics/Payloads Department which has ~200 Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Systems Administrators, Database Administrators, Network Engineers, and Engineering Leaders from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects to Product Owners and Scrum Masters. This engineering organization supports numerous programs across Divisions and Business Units of the Space Sector. We have opportunities for career advancement into higher level technical roles or leadership positions over one’s career.

This role can be located at our Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum MD locations. On this team, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one.

This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

This position is contingent upon the candidate verification/obtaining final clearances and program access(es) within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company.

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2, or a level 3 (Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.

Basic Qualifications (required To Be Considered)

  • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret (TS)/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance [TS/SCI] current and within scope, AND an adjudicated Counterintelligence polygraph (CI Poly adjudicated within last 5 years) at time of application
  • Position requires 24/7 on-call support 1 week per month for Tier 2 support
  • Must have a current Security+ CE certification (or equivalent IAT level II cert)

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $125,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,900.00 - $155,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
