Job Description

Idaho National Laboratory needs Cybersecurity Analysts to strengthen security frameworks protecting critical research in nuclear energy and national security by creating, reviewing, and assessing cybersecurity policies and procedures. You'll recommend and implement improvements in cybersecurity controls, collaborate with system owners and security officers, develop and maintain policy programs and guidelines, and establish communication channels with stakeholders to review policies and promote awareness. Your responsibilities include interpreting and applying laws, statutes, and regulatory documents into policy, analyzing and drafting cyber policies, conducting assessments and audits of cyber programs and projects, and supporting the Chief Information Security Officer in formulating cyber-related policies. You'll need strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure that Idaho National Laboratory's security posture supports mission-critical operations while maintaining compliance with federal regulations and organizational directives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participate in the creation, review, and assessment of policies and procedures supporting the secure use and operation of INL information systems that includes, but is not limited to, system security plans, vulnerability management, risk management, configuration management, change management, and others.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in cybersecurity controls.
  • Work in collaboration with system owners, Information System Security Engineers, Vulnerability Managers, and Information System Security Managers. Serve as an advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving security of assigned information systems.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policy, programs, and guidelines.
  • Establish communication channels with stakeholders and review policies with them.
  • Promote awareness of cybersecurity policies and strategies.
  • Interpret and apply laws, statutes, and regulatory documents into policy.
  • Analyze and draft cyber policies.

  • Support the CISO in the formulation of cyber-related policies.

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related degree and nine (9) years of relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree fifteen (15) years of direct relevant experience.
  • Must have an active DOE “Q” clearance or TS/SCI.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use hands to handle materials, manipulate tools, keyboard and type, reach with hands and arms, and operate job-related equipment. Job Information

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Cybersecurity Analyst to work on our Classified Cybersecurity team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off.

  • The pay range for this position is $95,256 – $195,288. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
