Collaborate closely with divisional IT teams and Enterprise Cybersecurity teams
Oversee the cybersecurity portfolio of work for the division
Drive vulnerability management and risk assessments across the division and guide teams on effective remediation strategies
Track and monitor risk activities, notify action owners, and escalate where required
Ensure risks and remediation plans are regularly addressed
Conduct quality assurance on all risk assessments and ensure integration into divisional strategic roadmaps
Improve the cybersecurity processes, solutions, and professional practices of the team
Use judgement to make risk-based recommendations and decisions
Foster cybersecurity and compliance awareness & training
Function as a trusted advisor and business partner

Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

Salary starting from £66,079 (depending on experience)

Location: Peterborough, UK

The Opportunity

The Divisional Cybersecurity Lead provides subject matter expertise in the analysis, classification, and response to cybersecurity risks within the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) and Electrification and Energy Solutions (E+ES) segment of the Power & Energy GCIO organization. In this role you will address cybersecurity, compliance and IT risk across our IT teams and business partners, aligning processes and controls to the relevant frameworks and internal systems.

In this role you will serve as a trusted advisor by giving cybersecurity guidance, performing detailed security reviews, and defining tangible remediation actions to protect critical applications, platforms, and data, while working closely with teams to ensure security supports our business goals.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical leadership, guidance and support on cybersecurity principles for applications and platforms across the division.
  • Collaborate closely with divisional IT teams and Enterprise Cybersecurity teams.
  • Oversee the cybersecurity portfolio of work for the division, collaborating with Enterprise teams to deliver the security roadmap.
  • Drive vulnerability management and risk assessments across the division and guide teams on effective remediation strategies to mitigate cybersecurity risk and threats.
  • Track and monitor risk activities, notify action owners, and escalate where required.
  • Ensure risks and remediation plans are regularly addressed.
  • Conduct quality assurance on all risk assessments and ensure integration into divisional strategic roadmaps.
  • Improve the cybersecurity processes, solutions, and professional practices of the team.
  • Use judgement to make risk-based recommendations and decisions.

What Skills You Will Have:

Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

Level Extensive Experience:

Cybersecurity Standards and Policies: Knowledge of developing cybersecurity policies, standards and procedures; ability to develop and communicate policies, standards and procedures that guide interactions with customers.

Level Working Knowledge:

Cybersecurity Risk Management: Knowledge of tools, techniques, approaches and processes of cybersecurity risk management; ability to ensure organizational network operation and minimize negative effect by cybersecurity risks.

Level Working Knowledge:

Information Security Management: Knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques of information security management; ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, while detecting, controlling and preventing violations of IT security.

Level Working Knowledge:

Information Security Technologies: Knowledge of technologies and technology-based solutions dealing with information security issues; ability to protect information security across the organization using encryption technologies and appropriate security software.

Level Working Knowledge:

Information Technology (IT) Security Policies: Knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.

Level Working Knowledge:
