Senior Power BI Developer / Data Modeller (Contract)

Duration: 3 months initial (likely extension to 6 months)

Day Rate: £550 / Inside IR35

Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)

Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Power BI Developer / Data Modeller to support a range of high-impact reporting and data transformation projects. This role will suit someone who is equally comfortable building robust data models in SQL as they are developing insightful Power BI reports.

You’ll be working across multiple initiatives, helping to enhance reporting capability and ensure data is structured effectively to support business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards

• Develop and optimise SQL-based data models, including fact tables
• Work across both reporting and back-end data modelling projects
• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
• Support ongoing improvements to existing reporting and data structures

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong SQL skills (essential)
• Advanced DAX capabilities
• Proven experience building Power BI reports and datasets
• Experience designing fact tables and working with data models
• Ability to work across both reporting and data engineering-style tasks
• Experience working in fast-paced, project-based environments

Sets in Service Report

• Building a Power BI report to track fleet assets through repair and maintenance (Power BI + SQL)

• Updating and recoding asset data based on new business logic (SQL & data modelling)

Twin Pack Modelling

• Enhancing existing models to standardise reporting on maintenance and run hours (SQL & data modelling)

Ideal Candidate

• Strong blend of technical delivery + commercial awareness
• Comfortable working across multiple concurrent projects
• Able to work independently in a fully remote environment
• Proactive and confident engaging with stakeholders where needed
