As a subsidiary of ABOUT YOU Group and a Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)-regulated Payment Services Supervision Act (ZAG) institute, SCAYLE Payments takes care of all important aspects of payment transactions: From the integration of payment service providers and payment methods at the Online-Fashion-Stores checkout to the deposit and payout processes of end customers and merchants. The team’s objective is to make payment transactions in e-commerce simpler, safer, and future-oriented.
We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our Payment team, which is responsible for the complete payment lifecycle, from customers first placing their orders within the Checkout to handling the refund of a returned item weeks later.
Between these two points, the team interacts with a multitude of internal and external players, spanning from internal business to other tech teams and multiple payment providers in a variety of countries. The applications the Payment team maintains span from high traffic & fault tolerance API hubs to security-conscious and reliable backend processing engines.
Job Description
- Own and evolve our AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), ensuring scalability, reliability, and security by design
- Design, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI), embedding security controls (e.g., SAST/DAST) directly into development workflows
- Lead monitoring and observability initiatives (e.g., Datadog), proactively identifying system risks and driving incident response and resolution
- Define and implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, RBAC, vulnerability management, and infrastructure hardening across environments
- Drive security initiatives such as patch management, threat detection (e.g., GuardDuty, Falco), and credential leak prevention across systems and repositories
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams, contributing to architectural decisions and leading security audits and compliance efforts

- You bring 5+ years in DevOps/SRE and 3+ years in security-focused roles, with a proven track record in securing cloud-native systems at scale
- You have deep hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes in production environments, including strong knowledge of IAM and RBAC models
- You are highly proficient in Terraform and CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI), and comfortable coding in at least one language (Go, Python, or JavaScript)
- You have solid experience with data storage systems (e.g., PostgreSQL) and a working understanding of data pipelines/ETL processes (e.g., AWS Glue)
- You have strong expertise in cloud security, monitoring, and observability, including tools like Datadog, GuardDuty, Falco, or similar
- You are a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills, comfortable working in Agile environments, and fluent in English
