Job Description


Title: Lead Technical Business Analyst

Duration: Contract To Hire (6mo)

Setting/Schedule: Fully Remote, EST 'day shift' core hours

Engagement Type: W2

  • NOT C2C eligible; unable to submit candidates that require sponsorship now or any points in the future as our client cannot provide sponsorship upon conversion to FTE

Compensation: approx. $50-60/hr

Interview Process: 2 Rounds

Job Summary

A Healthcare organization is seeking a Lead‑level Technical Business Analyst to serve as the technical anchor and people leader for a team of eight Technical Business Analysts. This role combines hands‑on technical contribution with team leadership, ownership of requirements delivery, and operational guidance to ensure high‑quality, consistent output across initiatives. Reporting to a Manager, this individual will help “steer the ship”—streamlining workflows, relieving hands‑on workload across the team, and ensuring requirements are well‑defined and ready to move smoothly into delivery. This is a highly collaborative role that interfaces closely with engineering and business stakeholders, particularly in a healthcare or pharma‑adjacent environment.

Must‑Have Qualifications

  • Proven lead‑level experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Background in healthcare, pharma, or health technology environments
  • Experience leading and supporting a team (direct people leadership or strong functional leadership over multiple BAs)
  • Strong background in requirements gathering, documentation, and development of clear, actionable user stories
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries and data analysis
  • Hands‑on experience with Python (current or prior; does not need to be daily use)
  • Ability to balance hands‑on technical work with people leadership and delivery oversight
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering and delivery teams
  • Available to work EST core hours (prior EST experience strongly preferred)

Plusses / Nice‑to‑Haves

  • Prior experience helping standardize or improve BA workflows, templates, or delivery processes.
  • Experience acting as a technical escalation point for other BAs.
  • Comfort mentoring junior or mid‑level BAs and raising overall team maturity.
  • Familiarity with agile or hybrid delivery environments.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of 8 Technical Business Analysts, providing guidance, prioritization, and technical direction.
  • Maintain hands‑on involvement in technical analysis while reducing individual contributor burden across the team.
  • Oversee requirements gathering efforts and ensure user stories are ready for seamless transition into delivery.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, engineering, and delivery teams.
  • Help standardize documentation, improve clarity, and elevate overall delivery quality.
  • Serve as a technical thought partner and mentor within the BA team.
  • Partner closely with leadership to assess workload, risks, and delivery readiness.
