Data Analyst/Underwriter

Location: North Metro Atlanta area (Hybrid)

Reports to: Chief Investment Officer

OVERVIEW:

Flock Financial, LLC is seeking a dynamic Data Analyst/Underwriter to join our analytics and acquisitions teams. This role is pivotal in enhancing efficiency and communication in financing our clients. Through in-house mentoring and hands-on experience, you will develop expertise in underwriting and data analysis within the alternative financing space.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Underwriting & Analytics:

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of underwriting in alternative financing through in-house mentoring.
• Cleanse and standardize data files to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Evaluate inbound portfolio data, creating detailed account breakdowns using Flock’s proprietary tools.
• Analyze data files using statistical tools to create visual representations (tables, histograms, choropleths, box-and-whisker plots).

Financial Analysis:

• Navigate and understand financial waterfalls that support deal preparation and performance tracking.
• Prepare preliminary cash flow and cost waterfalls for new investments, including scenario analysis at various performance levels.
• Upload and manage incoming data within our database system.
• Maintain links between Estimated Remaining Net Collections (ERNC) and supporting waterfalls.

Reporting & Compliance:

• Support the Accounting and Finance department in preparing and distributing Quarterly
• Investor Reports and Annual Reports.
• Assist with data extraction for audits, field exams, and compliance reviews.
• Develop, maintain, and update Power BI dashboards for senior management and clients.
• Identify and investigate data and performance anomalies to enhance investment performance.

Client Data Management:

• Utilize in-house AI/ML tools to identify areas for client performance optimization.
• Conduct initial reviews of incoming client data files for accuracy and completeness.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts and performance metrics.
• Experience with database management and data extraction.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with PowerBI and AI/ML tools is a plus.
