Job Description

CVP seeks an experienced Quantitative Data Analyst to join our growing Health Research and Technology team.

  • Apply quantitative and qualitative methods to identify distributions, patterns, trends, and correlations/causality using behavioral health data (e.g., substance and opioid misuse outcomes, service capacity, performance indicators) and present results with team members
  • Extract, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources to evaluate the Health Resources and Services Administration's Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP)
  • Oversee and mentor junior analysts, providing guidance on analytical approaches, quality review of work products, and supporting their professional development
  • Conduct sophisticated analyses including sample weighting, complex survey analysis, and other advanced statistical techniques to ensure methodologically rigorous and representative findings
  • Interact and engage directly with federal government clients, including
    • Presenting analytical findings
    • Responding to client inquiries
    • Supporting ongoing project communications to ensure deliverables align with client needs and expectations
    • Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience, or PhD with at least 2 years of experience,  in a relevant field, such as public health, social sciences, public policy, or statistics. 
    • Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., Python, R, SAS), qualitative analysis software packages (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA, Dedoose) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
    • Experience in conducting research and data analysis using mixed methods to identify distributions, patterns, trends, correlation/causality and a holistic understanding of the data.
    • Experience with advanced analytical techniques such as sample weighting, complex survey analysis, and multivariate modeling.
    • Experience managing or mentoring junior analysts, including delegating tasks, reviewing work products, and providing constructive feedback.
    • Experience with analyzing behavioral health and/or opioid-related datasets (e.g., HRSA datasets, CDC WONDER, hospital claims) as well as open-ended data from surveys, interviews and focus groups.
    • Experience summarizing analytical findings into detailed reports, data briefs, and factsheets.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting analytical findings to audiences of varying technical backgrounds.
    • Experience interacting with federal government clients or stakeholders, including presenting findings and managing client communications, is a plus.
    • Experience with survey programming (e.g., Alchemer, SurveyMonkey) is a plus.
    • Experience with proposal/grant writing is a plus.
