This position will provide manufacturing engineering support to the factory and report to the Process Engineering Manager. This includes establishing processes, specifying equipment, troubleshooting problems, and leading corrective action teams for safety and quality issues. This role will communicate with all areas of the business including Quality, Design Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.

  • This role will be onsite in Athens, GA. Relocation Assistance is available.

Responsibilities

  • Manage capital projects ensuring they are completed on time and under budget.
  • Design, procure, and commission equipment based on product design specifications.
  • Train operators and maintenance technicians on new processes and equipment.
  • Perform audits of the production lines ensuring operators have the tools they need to be successful.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard work instructions for all equipment and processes.
  • Lead teams to understand root cause and provide corrective actions when safety or quality issues occur.
  • Understand the process flow with the ability to identify and eliminate bottlenecks to the process.
  • Update factory layouts and schematics (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.) when changes are made.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment, identifying critical spare parts, and recommending PMs.
  • Apply statistical tools to measure, analyze, and improve product and process performance.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of relevant manufacturing experience with BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Agricultural, or similar).
  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience with AS in Engineering or related discipline
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively through all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) and drafting software (AutoCAD and SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting PLCs, AC/DC drives, servos, and other industrial control devices.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment specifications.
