Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Loads & Dynamics Engineer / Principal Loads & Dynamics Engineer . This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program. The role may be filled at either level, based upon candidate experience.

As part of the Sentinel AVE Loads & Environments team, your technical expertise and analytical prowess will play a vital role in loads/dynamics analysis and derivation, including rigid body analysis and coupled loads analysis (CLA). You'll Bring These Qualifications
This role can be filled at Loads & Dynamics Engineer (T02) or Principal Loads & Dynamics Engineer (T03) level.
Loads & Dynamics Engineer: 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelors degree in Engineering or relevant technical field; 1 year with Masters or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- Knowledge and/or experience with structural dynamics analysis
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (e.g. systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment
- Experience in Modal Transient Analysis in Nastran (or equivalent)
- Experience in programming and use of MATLAB (or equivalent) for analysis and data manipulation
- Experience running static and dynamic structural problems using analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
- Experience running Coupled Loads Analysis (CLA) and/or experience running multi-body dynamics simulations
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Structural Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an accredited college/university
- Experience working strategic or tactical missile programs
- Experience with dynamic (modal) testing and correlation of structural models
- Experience with modern FEA substructure modeling and component mode synthesis methods such as Craig-Bampton sub structuring
- Experience with high performance computing, management of large sets of data.
- DoD Secret Clearance (or higher)
Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
