About The Role

TEKsystems is hiring a NOC Technician I to support a 24/7, mission-critical network environment. In this role, you’ll monitor, troubleshoot, and help maintain the availability and performance of wireless and core transport networks . This is a great opportunity for someone early in their telecom or networking career who wants hands-on experience in a high-impact operations setting.

You’ll work closely with engineering, network control, and field teams to identify issues, restore service, and ensure the network meets industry standards and performance goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor critical network elements to ensure continuous service availability
  • Identify, validate, and respond to network alarms, incidents, and outages
  • Perform proactive network health checks and surveillance
  • Troubleshoot and isolate issues impacting Wireless RAN and core transport networks
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and field technicians to resolve incidents
  • Follow documented procedures to minimize service interruptions
  • Compile and submit network status reports and notifications
  • Escalate incidents appropriately and support disaster recovery actions as needed
  • Interact professionally with internal teams, vendors, and customers


What We’re Looking For

  • Entry-level to early-career experience in a telecommunications or network operations environment
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 operations environment
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Preferred Technical Exposure
  • Wireless technologies (LTE, 5G, UMTS/HSPA, GSM, CDMA/EVDO)
  • RF fundamentals and cellular theory
  • Transmission facilities (T1 and Ethernet circuit testing and troubleshooting)
  • Network monitoring tools and operating systems (Windows, UNIX, DOS)
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts such as Incident and Change Management


Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Associate degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field (preferred or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of relevant telecom experience


Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
