Software Developer in Test (SDET)

Required Skills & Experience

-5+ years of experience in software testing, with strong focus on automation

-Proven experience as an SDET or Automation Engineer

-Strong programming skills in Python (primary language for test automation)

-Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones

-Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar)

-API testing (Postman, REST clients, automated API frameworks)

-Integration and end-to-end testing

-Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)

-Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

-Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Experience testing integration-heavy systems or distributed architectures

-Experience working with sensitive, confidential, or restricted data environments

-Knowledge of performance or load testing tools

-Experience with test data management and data validation across systems

-Understanding of security testing practices

Job Summary

Insight Global is looking to bring on a Software Developer in Test (SDET) to support quality assurance and automation efforts across complex integration and software development projects for a large security client. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions using Python, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable systems. The ideal candidate is a strong developer first, with a testing mindset, experienced in building automation frameworks and working across integrated systems and APIs. This position is 100% remote working in EST time zone.
