ICF NEXT is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to work from one of our client's premises , The Joint Research Center offers scientific expertise in a wide range of scientific disciplines in support of almost all EU policy areas.

The Joint Research Center visual communication team works on various visual projects, both for online and offline use, such as visuals for websites and social media, infographics, posters, leaflets, publications layout etc.

The Candidate Will Be Mainly Required To

  • Work within the JRC Visual Communication team to quickly create visuals, from initial concept to final assets for digital/social media and print.
  • Conceptualise and design graphic visuals, infographics, report layout and/or data visualisations starting from complex documents

General Tasks To Be Performed Involve

  • Develops compelling digital assets for web and or social network use (e.g. banners, illustrations, icons, infographics, motion graphics and interactive elements).
  • Conceptualises, designs and delivers web – adapted infographics, including gathering and simplifying data and data interpretation, concept development and visualisation.
  • Edits photos and images to enhance visual quality of websites and or social media posts and fit design requirements.
  • Take photos during events or high level meetings involving EU staff
  • Advises when needed on visual communication strategies.
  • Develops visual identity materials and templates for special projects.
  • Maintain graphics standards; develops and implements design concepts; creates original graphics.
  • Provides expert guidance to deliver materials that are accessible, informative, and engaging for diverse audiences.

Knowledge and skills

  • Proven experience in the field of graphic design with a record of staying abreast of industry trends and providing creative and innovative solutions
  • Strong practical experience in the use of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and other graphic design tools.
  • Profile level: Junior +2 years of experience

Experience in using online tools (e.g. Canva) to create high - quality infographics

  • Creativity and innovative design skills
  • Familiarity with user - centred design principles and methodologies.
  • Photography experience and proficiency with photo - editing software
  • English: Understanding (B2), Speaking (B2), Writing (B2)
