PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Cisco Nexus – ACL & PBR Automation (Docker-Based Environment)

• Automated ACL (RACL, PACL, QoS) and PBR feature validation using Python and PyATS

in Cisco Nexus environments.

• Executed functional test cases in Docker-based setups; built reusable, data-driven

automation with structured logging and strong error handling.

• Performed end-to-end policy verification using traffic validation, counters, and CLI

checks to ensure accurate feature behavior.

• Collaborated with development teams for deep debugging using HAL logs, counters,

and traffic analysis to identify issues and validate fixes.

VXLAN – Automation Testing (PyATS – GNS3)

• Designed and executed VXLAN test scenarios for static and flood-and-learn behavior.

• Automated configuration and verification using Python and PyATS in GNS3 topology.

• Validated encapsulation, flooding, and forwarding through traffic testing and logs.

Role Overview

The Senior QA/Test Automation Engineer owns feature validation, regression strategy, and automation quality for Cisco Nexus networking products. This role requires deep expertise in both Python automation and networking, along with leadership in quality decisions and defect triage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own Python-based automation using pyATS
• Lead end-to-end feature and regression testing for Nexus platforms
• Validate complex L2/L3, VXLAN, and controller-based networking scenarios
• Own regression suites and prioritize high-risk test paths
• Port test plans to new hardware testbeds and ASIC platforms

• Perform deep failure analysis and collaborate with Development Engineers
• Produce quality metrics, risk assessments, and release sign-off signals

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years of experience in QA/Test Automation for networking products
• Strong Python development skills with pyATS automation framework
• Expert understanding of networking: L2/L3, VXLAN, routing, switching
• Hands-on experience with Nexus 9000, NX-OS, or similar platforms
• Experience with traffic generators (IXIA, TREX) and simulation tools
• CI/CD integrated test execution and automation maintenance experience

Leadership Expectations

• Mentor junior engineers and review automation code
• Drive test strategy and automation coverage growth
• Act as quality owner for assigned features and releases
