About The Role

We're looking for a Visual Designer & Animator to join our Marketing team and own the visual craft across everything we put into the world — from ad creative and event materials to website pages and brand motion. You'll be the person who makes Modular look as sharp as our technology is fast.

This is a hands-on, high-output role. You'll work directly with marketing leadership, and 1 staff designer, moving quickly between campaigns, launches, events, and brand projects. We have extremely high standards for design quality and visual consistency. If your portfolio doesn't stop people in their tracks, this isn't the right fit.

You should be equally comfortable designing a landing page in Figma and animating a product demo in After Effects. You treat AI tools as creative accelerators, not crutches — and you're already using them daily.

Location: Candidates based in the US or Canada are welcome to apply. This is a hybrid role and requires you to work in our office in Los Altos, CA or San Francisco, CA. Onboarding for new hires is conducted in-person in our Los Altos, CA office and relocation is provided to US and Canada based candidates.

What You Will Do

• Design and produce marketing ad creative across paid, social, and organic channels — static and animated.
• Create visual assets for events, conferences (e.g., NVIDIA GTC, Modular-hosted summits), and developer meetups — from booth graphics to digital signage to swag.
• Own brand consistency across all touchpoints. You are the quality bar for how Modular looks.
• Design website pages and microsites in Figma and/or webflow, working closely with frontend engineers to ship pixel-perfect implementations on modular.com.

• Produce motion graphics and animations using After Effects, Lottie, Jitter, and emerging tools like Descript for video content and social clips.
• Leverage AI-powered image creation and animation tools (e.g., generative image tools, Claude for creative workflows) to accelerate production without sacrificing quality.
• Respond quickly to ad-hoc marketing requests — product launches, blog graphics, email headers, social templates. This is a fast-paced team and you'll be on call for what marketing needs.
• Pass pixel perfect designs off to printer for physical events.
  
  

What You Bring To The Table

• A stunning portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual taste, range, and craft across brand, web, motion, and campaign work. This is the first thing we evaluate — bring your best.
• 4+ years of professional experience in visual design, with demonstrated strength in brand systems, digital advertising, and web design.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and a video editing tool of your choosing.
• Strong motion design and animation skills — you can take a concept from storyboard to final render.
• Working experience with Lottie animations for web.
• Proven ability to ship high-quality work at high velocity. You thrive under pressure and tight timelines.

• Solid, demonstrable use of AI tools in your design and production process. We don't mean "I've tried it" — we mean it's part of how you execute.
• A sharp eye for typography, layout, color, and visual hierarchy. Good taste is non-negotiable.
• Experience designing for developer or technical audiences is a strong plus.
• A positive team-first attitude. We are highly collaborative, passing designs and work-in-progress back and forth constantly. We win as a team and take credit together as a team.
  
  

Helpful But Not Required

• Familiarity with the AI infrastructure competitive landscape and developer tooling market.
• Video filming and/or editing experience (not just animation)
• Experience building in Webflow is a huge plus.
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS for rapid prototyping or microsite builds.
• Experience working at a high-growth startup where you wore many hats.

The estimated base salary range for this role to be performed in the US, regardless of the state, is $110,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD.

The estimated base salary range for this role to be performed in Canada, regardless of the province, is $106,700.00 - $126,100.00 CAD.

The salary for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of permissible, non-discriminatory job-related factors, which include but are not limited to education, training, work experience, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future. The total compensation for a candidate will also include annual target bonus, equity, and benefits, with equity making up a significant portion of your total compensation.
