Platform Engineer
(Contract: 6 months + and likely to extend | 100% Remote)
The Mission We are seeking a Kubernetes Expert to join our Platform Engineering team. This is a role for an engineer who treats infrastructure as software and is obsessed with the "inner loop" of developer productivity. You will be responsible for the health, security, and scalability of our production clusters, ensuring a seamless "Golden Path" from code commit to production.
The Priority Stack
- Orchestration: Deep Kubernetes expertise is mandatory. You should be comfortable with cluster architecture, custom controllers, and complex networking.
- Infrastructure: Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Cloud: AWS is preferred, but we are open to experts from GCP or Azure who can translate their skills to an AWS environment.
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions (Preferred) or similar cloud-native automation.

What You’ll Do
- Manage Kubernetes at Scale: Take full ownership of cluster lifecycle management—upgrades, scaling, and performance tuning.
- Standardize Infrastructure: Use Terraform to build modular, reusable infrastructure that serves as the foundation for our product teams.
- Enable Self-Service: Design and implement CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions) that allow developers to deploy and manage their own services safely.
- Optimize for Reliability: Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting for distributed systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Security & Compliance: Harden clusters using RBAC, Network Policies, and secret management best practices.

Who You Are
- The K8s Power User: You have managed production-grade Kubernetes clusters. You don't just use kubectl; you understand the API server, etcd, and the scheduler.
- Automation-First: You believe that if a task is worth doing, it’s worth automating. Manual changes are a bug, not a feature.
- Cloud-Fluent: You understand how Kubernetes interacts with cloud primitives (Load Balancers, VPCs, IAM, and Block Storage).
- Experience Over Degrees: We prioritize your technical track record and hands-on impact over formal credentials.
