Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure in a remote role. While this position is remote, candidates must be located within Ohio. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with hands‑on systems, networking, and automation experience who enjoys working across Linux, Windows, cloud, and virtualization environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, support, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments
- Manage and troubleshoot networking technologies including routing, firewalls, and VPNs
- Support Active Directory, Azure, and VMware environments
- Monitor system performance, availability, and security
- Implement infrastructure automation and configuration management tools
- Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, and Bash
- Support hybrid cloud and on‑prem infrastructure environments
- Collaborate with IT teams to improve system reliability and scalability
- Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives
- Document configurations, processes, and procedures

Qualifications
- 3+ years of combined Linux and Windows systems experience
- 3+ years of networking experience (routing, firewalls, VPNs)
- 3+ years of experience with Active Directory, Azure, and VMware
- Experience with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, and Bash
- Hands‑on experience with automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
- Experience with AI‑driven tools or platforms
- Candidates must be located in Ohio
