GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
LPSD is seeking an experienced technology professional to serve in an end-user support and systems administration role across our 10 village schools and 2 district office locations in rural Southwest Alaska. This is a high-autonomy role for someone who can operate independently in remote locations, manage a broad range of end-user technology, and work as a trusted partner to the Technology Director. This is a small team covering a large geographic area; both roles share responsibilities based on workload and urgency, and candidates should be comfortable working across the full support stack.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
● Primary point of contact for hardware, software, and connectivity support for staff and students across all district sites, including direct in-classroom support alongside teachers
● Support end-user devices across platforms: macOS, iOS, Windows, and Android/VR as applicable
● Set up and maintain classroom technology: Apple TVs, projectors, document cameras, and printers
● Manage Google Workspace accounts, organizational units, shared drives, and app access
● Manage device enrollment, configuration profiles, policies, and app deployment using Jamf

● Administer ManageXR for VR device management
● Assist with NinjaOne RMM administration: remote monitoring, patch management, and scripted deployments
● Support and maintain network infrastructure (UniFi switching, access points, firewalls, VLANs, Starlink) at district
sites
● Respond to helpdesk tickets and escalate to the Technology Director as needed
● Regular travel to village school sites; August through October is the heaviest travel period; travel is shared with the Technology Director
● Other duties as assigned by the Technology Director
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
● Prior experience in an IT support or systems administration role required; Alaska K-12 IT experience strongly preferred
● Strong working knowledge of macOS, Windows, and iOS; familiarity with Linux a plus
● Experience with MDM platforms (Jamf or equivalent)
● Working knowledge of Google Workspace administration
● Practical network troubleshooting skills across wired and wireless environments
● Methodical approach to diagnosing and resolving issues independently
● Clear communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to end users of all ages
● Must be willing and able to travel via small aircraft in varying weather conditions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience with UniFi or enterprise-grade networking hardware (switching, VLANs, firewall configuration)
● Windows Server or Linux server administration experience
● Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, including AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53)
● Scripting experience (bash, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and deployment tasks
● Experience with NinjaOne RMM, Classlink, ManageXR, or similar platforms
