IT Manager

Fully Remote
Optomi, in partnership with out premier client in the manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee IT Engineering and Operations. This individual will be responsible for managing daily technology functions, leading a hybrid IT team, and delivering scalable business solutions leveraging off-the-shelf tools, integrations, and modern cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background along with the ability to partner cross-functionally and deliver secure, reliable, and user-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support hybrid IT engineering and operations teams (internal and MSP), driving performance, prioritization, and continuous improvement
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations across infrastructure, cloud services, service desk, and SaaS environments
- Implement best practices around SLA-driven support, change management, incident response, and overall system operations, ensuring accountability across MSP partners
- Maintain a strong customer-first approach, delivering high-quality IT support and a positive end-user experience through responsiveness and ongoing service enhancements
- Design and deploy business solutions using off-the-shelf platforms, AI capabilities, APIs, integrations, and workflow automation
- Assess and introduce new tools and technologies to support business growth and digital initiatives
- Manage the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, including O365 E3/E5, Entra ID (Azure AD), Defender, Cloud Apps, Exchange Online, Intune, and security configurations
- Oversee Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, databases, networking, and identity services
- Lead implementation of enterprise identity solutions such as SSO, MFA, Conditional Access, and SaaS integrations
- Manage corporate networking environments, including firewalls, VPNs, and wireless infrastructure
- Establish and enforce IT and information security policies, procedures, SLAs, and best practices
- Oversee patching, vulnerability management, monitoring, logging, and endpoint security initiatives
- Ensure appropriate security controls are implemented across cloud platforms, systems, and SaaS applications
- Support security awareness efforts, SOC 2 compliance, audits, and risk assessments
- Manage the SaaS lifecycle, including procurement, onboarding, integration, support, and offboarding
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, MSPs, and cloud providers
- Monitor system performance, licensing, and cost optimization efforts
- Oversee service desk operations, ensuring timely issue resolution and continuous process improvement
- Track and report on IT KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to drive performance improvements
- Lead cross-functional IT initiatives, including M&A activities, from planning through execution
