Job Description

Platform Engineer (DevOps)

Contract Length: 6 months + (Likely Extension)

The Mission: We are seeking a high-impact Platform Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. We are moving away from manual interventions and toward a true "Infrastructure as Code" philosophy. Your goal is to build the automated, scalable, and resilient "internal developer platform" that allows our engineering teams to deploy with confidence and speed.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): You will treat the cloud environment like software, using Terraform to ensure our infrastructure is versioned, repeatable, and immutable.
  • Orchestration & Containers: You will manage and optimize Kubernetes environments, focusing on cluster health, scaling, and container security.
  • CI/CD Evolution: You’ll design and refine automated pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Codefresh) to minimize the "time to production" for our software suites.
  • Self-Service Tooling: You will build the scripts (Bash/Python) and internal tools that empower developers to handle their own provisioning through safe, pre-defined guardrails.

What You Bring (The Must-Haves):

  • Experience: 3+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering roles within high-availability environments.
  • Cloud Mastery: Proven hands-on experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • The Core Stack: Deep expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • Automation DNA: Fluency in Bash is required; experience with Python or Node.js is a significant advantage.
  • Reliability Mindset: A strong understanding of distributed systems, load balancing, and performance tuning.

The Context: This is a 100% remote contract for an engineer who operates independently and values "clean code" in infrastructure. You’ll be joining an Agile environment where automation is the default, not the exception.
