Location: Remote
Type: Part-time 1099 Contract
Compensation: Starting at $65 per hour or monthly contract, commensurate with experience

You'll work across the full stack — from crafting intuitive React interfaces to designing Python APIs and data pipelines — and collaborate closely with Product, Design, and fellow engineers. This is a great role for someone who loves writing clean, purposeful code and wants their work to matter.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain features across our React frontend and Python backend
- Collaborate with Product and Design to translate user needs into thoughtful, well-crafted software
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape engineering best practices
- Debug and improve the reliability and performance of existing systems
- Work in a fast-paced, iterative environment with a strong bias for impact

What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
- Solid experience with Python (backend APIs, data processing, or similar)
- Comfort with relational databases and writing efficient queries
- Experience with RESTful or GraphQL APIs
- Strong debugging skills and a thoughtful approach to testing
- Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and gives/receives feedback well
- Passion for building technology that serves underrepresented communities is a big plus
