Project information:

We are looking for a Senior/Medior Java Backend Developer with strong interpersonal skills and leadership potential to join and gradually lead a small engineering team. The platform is Java and Spring based and relies heavily on message-based architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services in Java/Spring within a message-driven architecture.

• Lead or grow into leading a small team of 2–6 engineers.

• Ensure code quality, mentor junior team members, and drive technical discussions.

• Work with message-based systems such as IBM MQ and Kafka.

• Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Must have skills:

• Senior/medior-level Java backend experience with Spring.

• Hands-on experience with message-based architectures — IBM MQ, Kafka, or similar.

• Either current experience as a small team lead or clear ambition and capability to step into that role.

• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to motivate a team and drive delivery.

Nice to have skills:

• Formal experience leading a small engineering team.

• Background in financial services or banking environment.
