Senior Network Engineer

On behalf of our Client, a global Leading Independent Provider of Telecommunication, IT Management and System Integration services, we’re looking for an experienced

Network Engineer with DV Clearance or the eligibility to achieve one to lead the design, security management, and support of both end clients and internal specialist networks across satellite, maritime, aero, and defence environments. You’ll be the go‑to technical authority for complex issues, escalations, and continuous improvement, working across multiple teams to keep mission‑critical networks running smoothly and securely.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, test, and commission internal and customer networks
• Act as the final escalation point for complex network issues
• Maintain high‑security environments and ensure network integrity
• Analyse routing, firewall, and performance logs; recommend improvements
• Create and maintain documentation, schematics, and support guides
• Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Hub, and MoD teams
• Provide excellent support to internal and occasional external customers
• Join the weekend/out‑of‑hours support rota

Key Skills

• Fortinet FortiGate (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
• Cisco Routers (29xx, 83xx, 4xxx, IOS‑XE) & Cisco Switches (29xx, 93xx)
• Routing & Security: VPN, IP SLA, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, VoIP QoS, Crypto
• Additional Experience: MPLS, 802.1x, Multicast, Linux, Docker, Python
• Strong troubleshooting in long‑latency networks
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

What You Bring

• Extensive hands‑on network engineering experience
• FCSS/FCP, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent knowledge
• Strong customer‑facing skills and a right‑first‑time mindset

• Must hold, or have the ability to easily achieve DV Security Clearance

Due to the secure and highly sensitive nature of the position and working environment, you must have, or be eligible to obtain DV Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and be eligible for UK Security Vetting at DV level. Clearance sponsorship will be provided where required.
