Job Description
CORE Transformers is hiring an Operations Project Manager to own high-priority initiatives across every corner of the business by taking complex, ambiguous problems from definition through to working outcomes, and doing the actual work to get there. This role requires versatility: someone who is equally at home designing a workflow, building a data report, managing a vendor, or sitting with a team to document and improve processes.
CORE is an electrical infrastructure company specializing in transformers, a critical component powering AI data centers, large-scale construction, and the modernization of the US power grid. In an industry notorious for years-long lead times, we quote in minutes and ship the same day, backed by over 1,000 units in stock and a unique product design that outperforms the major OEMs.
We were founded by the entrepreneurs behind Sunbelt and Maddox Industrial Transformers, the two biggest names in the preowned transformer space. The leadership team they've assembled brings deep industry expertise alongside modern, high-growth operational experience.
We're on pace to 3x revenue this year, new team members are joining almost every month, and the energy that comes with that is real. We want strong contributors who lift up those around them, listen to ideas from anywhere in the org, and care more about getting the outcome right than being the one who was right. If you do great work and you're a good human about it, you'll fit in here.
This is an exciting time to join, and the right person will find plenty of growth and opportunity on the journey ahead.
Your Mission
CORE is scaling fast. The business has more high-priority operational initiatives than bandwidth to see them through faithfully, and that gap is where this role lives.
You'll report directly to our VP of Operations, serving as the trusted point person who takes ownership of complex problems and sees them through to resolution. That means understanding the problem, designing the approach, coordinating whoever needs to be involved, and delivering a working outcome—not just status updates. You're not coordinating other people's execution. You are the execution, with others' cooperation.
The work spans pricing strategy, technology and systems implementations, process documentation, vendor relationships, data infrastructure, people-facing workflow design, and more. You'll often be absorbed in a single initiative for weeks, then move on to the next. This role is an exciting mix and variety of projects that evolve along with the business growth.
This isn't a role where someone hands you a playbook. You're often building it. And when it's done, you'll hand it off to the team that runs it every day.
A Day in the Life
Your morning may start with a check-in on the pending NetSuite implementation. You're coordinating with the outside consulting team on a data mapping question that came up yesterday. You've pulled the relevant internal documentation and drafted a requirements summary so the call stays focused and productive.
Mid-morning, a manager reaches out needing a new Power BI report: pipeline by product type, segmented by region. You build it, QA it, and send it over with a plain-language note on how to read it.
After lunch, you're evaluating two expense reporting platforms the team has been considering. You've built a comparison matrix covering features, pricing, and setup complexity, and you're drafting a one-pager recommendation for your VP.
Late afternoon, you spend time with the HR team mapping the current hiring workflow and automation. There are three manual steps that should be automated, and you've already identified where the triggers need to go. You’ve become the subject matter expert on this tool, so you make the changes directly and send a note to HR that it’s ready to go.
Every day looks a little different.
Who You Are
You're the kind of person who notices things. When you're walking through a team's workflow, you see the friction point before anyone names it. When you're looking at data, you spot the pattern no one asked you to find. You bring those observations forward—not as complaints, but as structured recommendations your VP can act on.
You build structure in ambiguous situations. When there's no template, you create one. When a process lives in someone's head, you sit with them until it lives in a document. You don't wait for perfect information to move forward, but you ask the right questions before you prescribe a solution.
You're analytically wired without being too rigid. You can build a report, run an analysis, and turn it into something a decision-maker can act on. You can also sit with an operations team, translate what they need into a requirements doc, and hold a vendor accountable to delivering it.
You're an early adopter by nature. You've already explored what AI tools can do (beyond the basics), you have opinions about them, and you get genuinely excited about fixing inefficiencies with amazing technology.
You know how to prioritize. When there are five things on your list, you can rank them by expected business impact and defend that ranking. You don't spread thin across everything; you drive the most important thing to completion, then move on.

What You'll Be Doing
- Own cross-functional operational projects from kickoff through delivery by managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and execution, and doing the work, not just coordinating it.
- Observe how teams work, identify friction and inefficiency proactively, and bring structured recommendations to leadership.
- Document and improve core business workflows to support system implementations, team training, and operational alignment across the company.
- Serve as the internal bridge between business stakeholders and external technical vendors, defining requirements, managing relationships, and keeping projects on track.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that turn data into decisions other teams can act on.
- Identify automation and efficiency opportunities across the business and drive implementation from scoping through rollout.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and platforms, building clear business cases with feature comparisons, cost analysis, and integration considerations.
- Design and roll out KPI and SMART goal frameworks at the team level, ensuring the right inputs are tracked and understood across functions.
- Support ongoing system coordination related to Netsuite ERP alongside third-party consulting partners.
- Develop working familiarity with end-to-end business processes across engineering, procurement, logistics, marketing, HR, and customer service, becoming a trusted resource across functions.
- Coordinate facilities vendor relationships and operational infrastructure needs.
- 3–5 years of experience in operations, project management, business analysis, or a closely related generalist role, ideally in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment. This is a step-up opportunity for someone hungry to grow.
- Bachelor's degree in business, operations, engineering, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated experience owning projects end to end with loosely defined scope, not just tracking tasks but designing the approach and completing the work.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing initiatives by expected business impact—and a track record of making those calls well under pressure.
- General technology fluency. You've worked directly with enterprise-level business systems (ERP, CRM, BI tools, or similar), are comfortable learning new platforms quickly, and have enough systems thinking to define requirements and coordinate with technical vendors.
- Data analysis capability at a working level: building reports, pulling insights from spreadsheets, turning analysis into a recommendation someone can act on. Deep BI expertise is a bonus; general comfort with data is the bar.
- Experience defining business requirements and using them to coordinate with technical teams or external vendors.
- Experience communicating directly with VP-level leadership or above—presenting clearly, adjusting detail level, and bringing recommendations, not just status updates.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across audiences, from the warehouse floor to the executive team.
- A sharp eye for process and operational friction, and the initiative to bring observations and proposals forward without being asked.
- A self-starting, builder's disposition. You create structure where none exists, follow through without being chased, and leave things more organized than you found them.
