The Vibration Engineer serves as a technical subject matter expert in Vibration Analysis and Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA) for rotating machinery and industrial equipment. The primary purpose of this role is to provide expert consultation and implementation support to customers, ensuring optimal vibration monitoring, diagnostics, and reliability solutions that minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance.
This position plays a critical role in bridging technical expertise with customer needs by working closely with the Principal Applications Engineer and the Sales team to deliver high-value solutions. The Vibration Engineer operates with limited oversight, independently managing complex projects while maintaining the highest standards of technical accuracy and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) on Vibration Analysis, Vibration Monitoring Systems, and Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA), providing deep technical guidance on implementation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Support customer-facing activities, including technical consultations, demonstrations, on-site support, and training to ensure successful adoption of Vibration and ESA solutions.
- Perform sensor testing, route-based testing, and product support testing to validate hardware and software performance in real-world applications.
- Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) on InsightCM (ICM) releases from a user perspective, specifically focusing on vibration and ESA features, to ensure high-quality product delivery.
- Respond to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) by providing technical input, solution architecture, and accurate scoping of vibration and ESA-related requirements.
- Consult directly with customers to assess their vibration and reliability needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and support the successful implementation of vibration monitoring programs and ESA technologies.
- Collaborate closely with the Principal Applications Engineer and Sales team to develop and deliver tailored technical proposals, system configurations, and integration strategies.
- Troubleshoot complex vibration-related and ESA-related issues in industrial applications, including motors, pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating equipment. I
- Independently manage technical projects with minimal supervision, ensuring timely delivery, quality outcomes, and alignment with industry standards.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for both internal stakeholders and customers.
- Stay current with advancements in vibration analysis technologies, ESA methodologies, predictive maintenance tools, and emerging technologies.

- Vibration Analyst Certification- Category 2 (Cat 2) at a minimum
- 5-10 Years hands on practical experience in Online motor testing with at least 5 years in Electrical Signature Analysis (ESA)
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with vibration analysis (routes, spectra, waveforms, ODS, modal analysis, etc.) and ESA.
- Proven ability to work with limited oversight and independently drive technical solutions from consultation through implementation.
- Strong experience in customer-facing technical roles within industrial or reliability engineering environments.
- Proficiency in vibration data collection and analysis tools (e.g., CSI, SKF, Bently Nevada, or equivalent).
- Excellent collaboration, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer consultations and on-site implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or experience in lieu of a degree
- Experience with machine learning and AI applied to condition monitoring, vibration analysis or predictive maintenance.
- Industry experience in oil and gas, pulp and paper or mineral and mining
- Familiarity with industry standards (ISO, API, etc) related to vibration and machinery diagnostics.
- Successfully pass background check for cybersecurity access requirements.
- Candidate will be responsible for reviewing policies and procedures related to cybersecurity and those relevant to the functions of their role.
- Candidate is expected to maintain a cybersecure work environment.
