Senior Network Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Remote Network Engineer with a strong background in troubleshooting network infrastructure across OSI Layers 1–3 within a break/fix environment. This role will support enterprise and telecom network environments by diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues related to routing, switching, firewalls, and VLAN configurations.

The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with packet analysis tools and be comfortable working in a fast-paced remote operations environment supporting mission-critical network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot network issues across OSI Layers 1–3 in a break/fix support environment
• Diagnose and resolve routing, switching, and firewall-related incidents
• Configure and troubleshoot VLANs and Layer 2 network segmentation
• Utilize packet capture tools such as Wireshark to identify performance or connectivity issues
• Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware remotely

• Monitor network performance and respond to outages or degradation
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Document incidents, resolutions, and network changes in ticketing systems
• Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to maintain network stability

Required Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer preferably within an ISP or broadband environment
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and OSI Layers 1–3
• Experience in a break/fix network operations support environment for enterprise companies
• Proficiency with VLAN configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience using packet capture and analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with: Ruckus and/or Cisco and/or Cisco Meraki
