Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for various IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. You will have a technical understanding of telecommunication, WAN, and LAN networks for integration purposes, and will be responsible for assisting with the administration, installation, upgrade, and maintenance of server-based application services, operating systems, and the server hardware technology they reside upon.
This position will work closely with Senior Systems Engineers to ensure that all OMC data services are maintained at the appropriate service level, and will assist in the evaluation, planning, and development of new server-based software and hardware technology. You will provide administrative and technical support for adopted business applications, operating systems, and third-party programs, and will document policies and procedures for all server-based technology.
This position will also assist with the training and updating of appropriate staff on server-based policies and procedures, and will have technical knowledge of operating systems, system configurations, software application installation and configuration, and networking. You will work with vendors to ensure high-quality support for maintenance and disaster recovery, and will have problem analysis and resolution skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Overall, as a Systems Engineer, you will be an integral part of the technical team, with a focus on supporting ongoing projects and ensuring the smooth operation of server-based systems. You will work closely with senior team members and vendors to ensure that all technology is operating at optimal levels and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in this rapidly-evolving field.

- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- Two years’ demonstrated experience managing Windows OS, including active directory, VMware experience, Blade technology and thin client deployment.
- SAN management including backup recovery and disaster recovery implementation is required.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and server hardware preferred.
- Experience with server hardware and operating systems, such as Windows and Linux preferred.
