Description: STG is a SEI CMMi Level 5 company with several Fortune 500 and State Government clients. STG has an opening forConnected Vehicle Telematics Analytics Engineer.

Please note that this project assignment is with our own direct clients. We do not go through any vendors. STG only does business with direct end clients. This is expected to be a long-term position. Position Description:

Employees in this job function are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data solutions including data infrastructure, pipelines, etc. for collecting, storing, processing and analyzing large volumes of data efficiently and accurately Key Responsibilities: 1) Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand current and future data requirements 2) Design, build and maintain reliable, efficient and scalable data infrastructure for data collection, storage, transformation, and analysis 3) Plan, design, build and maintain scalable data solutions including data pipelines, data models, and applications for efficient and reliable data workflow 4) Design, implement and maintain existing and future data platforms like data warehouses, data lakes, data lakehouse etc. for structured and unstructured data 5) Design and develop analytical tools, algorithms, and programs to support data engineering activities like writing scripts and automating tasks 6) Ensure optimum performance and identify improvement opportunities

• 5+ Years Total Technical Experience: Must have a background in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or Embedded Systems.
• 3+ Years in "Code-Based" Analytics: Demonstrated experience using Python, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines to manage data (not just SQL/Tableau).
• Automotive/IoT Specific: Must have prior experience working with hardware-constrained environments (Vehicle Telemetry, Connected Devices, or Embedded Systems) where bandwidth and battery usage are critical factors.

• Senior Analytics Engineer (Instrumentation & Data Contracts) Role: Contractor (6 Months) | Focus: Schema Definition, Unit Testing, Developer Enablement. The Opportunity: "The Engineering Force Multiplier" Join Digital Product Analytics as the Technical Implementation Lead for Data Contracts. While we define the roadmap, feature engineers lack bandwidth to translate concepts into code. You will provide "White-Glove Service"—writing schemas, generating code artifacts, and building validation tests—making Data Contract adoption frictionless for developers. What You’ll Do: Code the Contracts: Translate measurement plans into production-ready Data Contracts (YAML/JSON schemas) for engineers to consume.
• Build the "Validation Kit": Don't just dictate tests—write them. Develop reusable Unit Tests (Python/PyTest) for CI/CD pipelines to automatically verify event firing and payload accuracy.
• Optimize for Constraints: Ensure instrumentation respects LTE bandwidth and 12V battery power, avoiding unnecessary vehicle wake-ups.
• Manage Schema Evolution: Own GitHub versioning.

• Ensure updates are backward-compatible so analytics changes never break feature builds. Bridge the Gap: Translate business requests into specific hardware (TCU/ECU) signals and API logic. Requirements: "Analytics as Code": Expert with GitHub, YAML, and JSON.
• You treat data definitions as software. Test Engineering: Proven ability to write Python Unit Tests to validate logic, mock data, and assert schema matches. Automotive/IoT Architecture: Deep understanding of hardware constraints, TCUs, CAN signals, and vehicle states (e.g., Deep Sleep).
• Service Mindset: Your "customers" are Feature Engineers. Make their lives easier by handing them ready-to-use instrumentation assets. Tech Stack (Keywords for Recruiters): Languages: Python, YAML, JSON, SQL. Tools: GitHub Actions, CI/CD, PyTest. Domain: Automotive (TCU/ECU), IoT Telemetry, Data Contracts.

Education Required:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in computer science, engineering or related disciplines.
