Key Responsibilities

Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices
Manage and oversee payroll processing in Gusto to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Administer employee benefits, including leading open enrollment processes
Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Recommend and implement HR best practices
Design and manage performance review processes
Support managers with performance feedback, coaching, and documentation
Help build a culture of accountability and growth
Optimize onboarding processes for new hires across departments
Ensure a seamless employee experience from hire through offboarding
Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
Guide and advise on culture building activities across a diverse workforce
Support a distributed team, ensuring alignment, communication, and engagement

WMP Eyewear is seeking a hands-on, experienced Fractional HR Manager (contract) to support a growing team across DTC eCommerce, wholesale retail, and warehouse operations. This role is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution.


You will serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leadership, ensuring smooth HR operations, compliance, and a strong employee experience across a remote and distributed workforce.


📍 This is a Remote Role (United States only)

💰Contract, on-going; up to $70/hour; up to 15-20 hours per week (hours may flex)

💻MUST HAVE Ecommerce experience preferably beauty, fashion or CPG with a good understanding of Warehouse operations and policies as well as working with a distributed workforce across the United States.

WHAT YOU WILL DO


HR Operations & Employee Support

  • Serve as the point of contact for day-to-day employee questions and HR-related needs
  • Provide guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Support a positive and compliant work environment across all teams

Payroll & Benefits Administration

  • Manage and oversee payroll processing in Gusto to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Administer employee benefits, including leading open enrollment processes
  • Act as liaison with benefits providers and payroll vendors

Policies & Compliance

  • Develop, update, and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (including multi-state workforce considerations)
  • Recommend and implement HR best practices

Performance Management

  • Design and manage performance review processes
  • Support managers with performance feedback, coaching, and documentation
  • Help build a culture of accountability and growth

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle

  • Optimize onboarding processes for new hires across departments
  • Ensure a seamless employee experience from hire through offboarding
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
  • Guide and advise on culture building activities across a diverse workforce

Remote Workforce Management

  • Support a distributed team, ensuring alignment, communication, and engagement
  • Recommend tools and practices to improve remote work effectiveness


ABOUT YOU


  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience (experience as a standalone or fractional HR leader preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations, compliance, and employment law
  • Experience supporting eCommerce, retail, or warehouse teams is a MUST HAVE
  • Proven experience managing payroll and benefits administration
  • Skilled in building and implementing HR processes from the ground up
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment

  • Comfortable supporting both corporate and operational (warehouse/retail) teams
