About The Role

Senior Digital / Data Architect with strong experience leading solution and data architecture for citizen‑centric digital services in an Agile environment. This remote role supports the Government of Alberta by defining and evolving the architecture of digital platforms and data ecosystems, ensuring alignment with common components, re‑usable capabilities, and user‑centered design. The candidate will lead solution design, integration strategy, and data‑architecture patterns across one to two concurrent projects, while mentoring product teams, reviewing code, and contributing to enterprise‑grade architectural standards and best practices.

Position Details

  • Fully remote: based in Edmonton, AB, with 100% work from home; Province does not cover travel, relocation, or incidental expenses if onsite meetings are required.
  • Contract duration: initial 8‑month term (Apr 3, 2026 – Dec 3, 2026), extendable by up to 24 months for a total of 36 months, under the same terms.
  • Maximum expected hours per term: 1,960 unless otherwise agreed.
  • Senior Digital / Data Architect role focused on solution‑ and data‑architecture leadership for Government‑of‑Alberta digital services.

Required Qualifications

Senior Digital / Data Architects with:

  • Strong experience leading solution and data architecture for large‑scale, enterprise‑level digital services.
  • Experience in Agile and iterative delivery environments, with a citizen‑centric design mindset.
  • Experience designing integration patterns, system boundaries, and reusable components.
  • Experience reviewing code and mentoring technical teams.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex architecture concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a public‑sector or highly regulated environment is an asset.
