Role summary
We need a UX contractor for a focused 6-month engagement to strengthen our product UX foundation, move critical design work forward, and help bring structure and speed to a growing platform. This person should be strong in systems thinking, comfortable working in complex product environments, and able to translate messy or technical problems into clear user experiences. The role is hands-on and delivery-oriented, with a strong emphasis on design systems, workflow UX, prototyping, and close partnership with engineering.
What you’ll do
- Contribute to and utilize a design system that supports consistency and faster delivery across teams.
- Translate complex workflows, product requirements, and technical constraints into intuitive user experiences.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to support active product work.
- Partner closely with product, engineering, and data teams to move designs into implementation with quality and speed.
- Help drive alignment with stakeholders by iterating in real time, capturing feedback clearly, and converging on practical design decisions.
- Conduct targeted user research and usability validation where needed to improve confidence in the experience direction.
- Explore and apply AI-assisted design workflows where they improve efficiency or output quality.
- Contribute practical standards and reusable patterns rather than one-off mockups.

Required experience
- Strong systems thinking and experience creating or improving design systems.
- Strong grounding in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design.
- Ability to work effectively with engineers and operate with enough technical fluency to design practical solutions.
- Ability to simplify complexity and communicate design tradeoffs clearly.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Figma proficiency, including tokens, variables, auto layout, component structure, and documentation.
- Portfolio showing shipped product work, polished execution, and clear rationale behind decisions.
