Job Description


Position Summary

The Product Manager owns the strategic and commercial success of assigned product lines and market segments across Sensience’s global customer base. This role serves as a cross-functional business leader driving growth, margin expansion, lifecycle management, and customer value creation across HVAC, refrigeration, industrial, energy, appliance, and adjacent markets.

The role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to translate market needs into differentiated products and profitable growth.

This role is remote and based out of Columbus, OH.

Position Responsibilities

  • Own a portfolio of products and/or market segments, with full accountability for revenue growth, margin performance, and lifecycle execution
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Sales, Sales Operations, and Finance on pipeline development, pricing strategy, demand planning, and forecast accuracy.
  • Lead product roadmap development, including new product introductions (NPI), portfolio optimization, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Drive pricing strategy and margin improvement initiatives in collaboration with Finance, Strategic Pricing, and Operations.
  • Translate voice-of-customer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence into clear product strategies and business cases.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and R&D to define customer-valued features, manage trade-offs, and ensure on-time, on-budget product delivery.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to improve cost structure, manufacturability, availability, and overall profitability.
  • Track and evaluate post-launch performance, including pipeline conversion, quotation activity, sales performance, and customer adoption.
  • Create and communicate compelling value propositions across Sales, Marketing, and customer-facing teams.
  • Support Sales Enablement with positioning, tools, training, and market messaging for new and evolving products.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level updates on product performance, growth initiatives, risks, and opportunities.
  • Continuously assess product and customer profitability to optimize portfolio mix and capital allocation.
  • Identify emerging technologies, new applications, and market adjacencies to support long-term growth.

Position Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
    • In an engineering or science-related field with a passion for business marketing, or
    • In a business marketing field with clear technical capabilities and financial analytics
  • MBA preferred
  • Requires a minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry and product management, product marketing, strategic planning or a closely related role in Industrial, HVAC, sensing, or technology driven markets
  • Demonstrated ability to manage products across the full lifecycle from concept through launch, growth, and end-of-life.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in pricing, margin analysis, and profitability improvement.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and customer pain points into clear product strategies and commercial outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, CRM/ERP systems).
  • Experience working with customers and internal stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Overall business savvy, market expertise, and operational understanding
  • Excellent communicator and multi-tasker
  • Visionary able to motivate others to achieve and win as a team
  • Negotiation/persuasion skills
  • Customer facing position – travel required
