Minimum requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• An individual with a background in Backend Engineering who possesses leadership qualities.
• A solid understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies and be able to guide and mentor the team in these areas.
• Capable of efficiently balancing their daily workload between leadership responsibilities, development tasks, and Scrum rituals.
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills driven, proactive & enthusiastic with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Previous experience in the iGaming industry is needed.
Nice to have:
• Experience in Backend development with PHP
This role can be performed as an employee, based in Malta, offering you the option to work hybrid/remotely.
Responsibilities:
The Development Team Lead works alongside the Head of Development to construct high performing teams by guiding a group of exceptionally skilled individuals, while also making sure that each team member has the necessary resources and support to excel in their career.
Your main tasks will be:
• Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, providing feedback, and continuously improving the team to ensure the right mix of skills and knowledge.
• Directly managing the individuals within the team, being accountable for their performance, job satisfaction, and career development planning.
• Facilitating and driving the team's timely and high-quality delivery to production, taking ownership of ensuring that the team meets commitments and expectations.
• Cultivating a culture of ownership, collaboration, and a shared passion for delivering quality products.
• Work closely with engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of new and current systems.
• Collaborate with other teams and departments to gather and/or share information relating to team activities.
