The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is embarking on a transformative initiative — deploying natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning to modernize how child welfare intake cases are triaged and managed. This proof-of-concept has the potential to reshape how the State protects its most vulnerable children, and we are looking for a Senior Business Analyst who wants to be at the center of that change.
This is a fully remote, high-impact engagement where your work will directly influence child safety outcomes across the State of Mississippi.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a Business Analyst role for state, local, or corporate clients.
- Proven expertise delivering CCWIS solutions, including intake processes, call center operations, and case actioning.
- Hands-on experience in the design, configuration, and delivery of at least two (2) COTS CCWIS systems, including systems by RedMane Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to advance strategy and devise tactics to achieve incremental goals.
- Familiarity with data systems commonly used by Child Protective Services agencies.
PREFERRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Skilled at conducting workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions.
- Ability to map workflows, analyze business outcomes, and devise improvements that minimize cost and labor while improving outcomes.
- Proven track record of successful collaboration with technical team members.
- Experience using Agile methodologies to manage complex development projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience quantifying business value through measured data and key metrics.
- Skill in identifying key stakeholders at all organizational levels and securing their support.
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into actionable day-to-day tasks.
- Proficiency in budget management, scope control, risk mitigation, and delivery.
- Ability to produce clear, professional documentation.
- Knowledge of algorithm design, implementation, and testing — a plus.
