About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Embedded Real-Time Software Developer/Integrator to join our Effectors Center within the Software Engineering Directorate at Raytheon. This onsite position is based in Tucson, Arizona, at our E Hermans Rd BLDG 805 facility. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, and integrating embedded firmware and hardware solutions for autonomous avionics systems and other complex defense platforms. Working within an integrated product team environment, you will collaborate with product owners, chief engineers, and cross-disciplinary teams to ensure software solutions meet stringent mission requirements, safety standards, and functional reliability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-stakes defense projects, leveraging your expertise in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and hardware-software integration.

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems comprising firmware and hardware components.
- Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to define, refine, and improve product concepts, ensuring high levels of testability, reliability, and quality.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Participate in technical proposals, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
- Work closely with product owners and chief engineers to ensure software solutions meet mission-critical requirements and safety standards.
- Maintain compliance with security protocols, including obtaining necessary program access and security clearances.
