This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-stakes defense projects, leveraging your expertise in embedded systems, real-time operating systems, and hardware-software integration.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, typically supported by a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). Essential qualifications include extensive experience with embedded C++ software development, embedded software security, and software architecture design and implementation. Proficiency with real-time operating systems such as Green Hills, Integrity, Wind River VxWorks, or Linux is required. Experience in developing complex systems involving hardware, firmware, and software integration is crucial. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, along with the ability to obtain an interim Secret security clearance and subsequently a full program access clearance. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, mentor less experienced staff, and contribute to technical proposals and design reviews. Additional experience with lab instrumentation, device driver development, and leading engineering teams in hardware-software integration projects will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, implement, test, and debug integrated embedded real-time software within heterogeneous systems comprising firmware and hardware components.
  • Collaborate within a cross-disciplinary team to define, refine, and improve product concepts, ensuring high levels of testability, reliability, and quality.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Participate in technical proposals, preliminary design reviews, and critical design reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Work closely with product owners and chief engineers to ensure software solutions meet mission-critical requirements and safety standards.
