Northrop Grumman has an opening for a Systems Software Analyst/ Principal Systems Software Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You'll Get To Do

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Software Analyst (T02/T03) to manage and optimize our Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Crowd. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience, along with an active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for Special Program Access (SAP). Key responsibilities include system configuration, user and security management, and automation of workflows using JQL. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are essential, as well as the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Familiarity with CI/CD integration, experience managing large-scale projects, and knowledge of Groovy scripting or Adaptavist ScriptRunner are preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal teams, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, while also contributing to project documentation and operational success.

Basic Qualifications

This role can be filled at the Systems Software Analyst (T02) or Principal Systems Software Analyst (T03) level.

Systems Software Analyst: 2 Years with Bachelors in Science; 1 Year with Masters; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (reinvestigation within the last 6 yrs)
  • U.S. citizenship; eligible for Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Jira Administration configuration and automation to include project setup, custom fields, complex workflows (transitions, conditions, validators), User & security management to include account provisioning, global & project-level permissions, security schemes, and automation to include creation of global and project-level rules using conditions, smart values, and branches
  • JQL: advanced filter and report creation

Principal Systems Software Analyst: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD; 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree

  • Active DoD Secret clearance (reinvestigation within the last 6 yrs)
  • U.S. citizenship; eligible for Special Program Access (SAP)
  • Jira Administration configuration and automation to include project setup, custom fields, complex workflows (transitions, conditions, validators), User & security management to include account provisioning, global & project-level permissions, security schemes, and automation to include creation of global and project-level rules using conditions, smart values, and branches
  • JQL: advanced filter and report creation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with at least one scripting language (e.g., Groovy, Python, PowerShell, Java, JSON) with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to others
  • Experience with Adaptavist ScriptRunner
  • IAT Level II certification, such as Security+, as per DoD Cyber Workforce requirements
  • Strong problem-solving & analytical abilities (issue analysis, solution delivery)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Attention to detail and sound judgment in all tasks
  • Proven project-management capability: handling multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Collaborative teamwork with the ability to work independently when needed
  • Development of operational instructions and comprehensive documentation
  • Effective partnership with internal teams to meet project milestones
  • Active SAP access
  • Significant experience managing large-scale projects or multiple teams focused on Atlassian tools
  • Exposure to strategic planning and executive-level decision making
  • Familiarity with other IT service management and collaboration tools
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and integration with Atlassian toolsets

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
