Senior Frontend Engineer

Note: This role is 100% remote, but we require overlap with Eastern Time (EST/EDT) working hours to ensure smooth collaboration with the team.

We’re looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer who can own and drive the frontend experience across our web and mobile products. We need someone who sees problems, proposes solutions, and ships them. You’ll be working across a modern React (web) and React Native (mobile) codebase, building features used by millions of users every day.

You’ll care deeply about code quality, maintainability, and performance - and you’ll champion the use of AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to move faster without sacrificing standards. You’re the kind of engineer who treats AI coding assistants as a force multiplier, not a crutch, and you’re always looking for ways to improve code quality and performance with these tools.

This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, backend engineers, and QA - but at the end of the day, you’ll own your domain and be trusted to make the right calls.

• Build, ship, and maintain high-quality features across our React web application and React Native mobile app, working across the full frontend surface area.
• Take ownership of major frontend initiatives end-to-end - from technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment - without needing hand-holding.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable TypeScript code that other engineers can confidently build on. Champion code quality standards, review PRs thoroughly, and help to raise the bar for the whole team.
• Actively leverage AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) and agentic workflows to accelerate development. Advocate for and help the team adopt best practices around AI-augmented engineering.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA to translate requirements into elegant, performant user experiences. Push back when something doesn’t make sense and propose better alternatives.
• Improve our frontend architecture, patterns, and tooling. Identify technical debt and address it proactively - you don’t wait for permission to make things better.
• Contribute to our shared business logic and component libraries, ensuring consistency across web and mobile platforms.

• Mentor and support other engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and knowledge sharing. Lead by example.

• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with a strong track record of shipping production software at scale.
• Deep expertise in React and the modern React ecosystem (hooks, context, routing, state management). You don’t just use React - you understand it.
• Solid experience with React Native or strong willingness to ramp up quickly. We need someone comfortable building across both web and mobile.
• Advanced TypeScript proficiency. You write typed code by default and understand how to use the type system to prevent bugs and improve developer experience.
• A genuine passion for clean, maintainable code. You care about naming things well, keeping components focused, writing meaningful tests, and leaving code better than you found it.
• Demonstrated experience with AI-assisted development tools and a clear point of view on how to use them effectively. You’re a champion of agentic coding workflows and can show how you’ve used them to ship faster.
• Self-directed and proactive. You take initiative, own your work fully, and don’t need to be managed closely. You see what needs doing and do it.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You can articulate technical decisions clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment where priorities shift and ambiguity is the norm.

• Familiarity with our tech stack:
• React 18, React Native, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Redux Toolkit, Vitest, React Testing Library, GitHub Actions, Yarn 4
• Experience with real-time features (Socket.io, WebSockets) and streaming interfaces

• Background in B2C consumer products with high traffic and millions of daily active users

• Familiarity with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence)
