Creative Strategist


Location: Fully Remote (US / Canada / Europe)

Job Type: Full-Time


Creative is the growth engine here, not a support function. We're looking for a strategist who can own paid social creative at scale - directing a team, building testing frameworks, and turning performance data into ads that actually work. If you want creative decisions tied directly to revenue, this is that role.

Uproot Clean is a fast-growing, performance-driven consumer brand built for pet owners. We operate at scale across multiple channels and leverage paid social to drive growth. We invest aggressively in testing, move quickly on winners, and expect our creative team to operate with the same rigor as our media buying. Creative performance directly impacts revenue - and we want someone who's excited by that level of ownership.


The Role

You'll own and scale paid social creative across Meta, TikTok, and AppLovin, supporting $500k in monthly ad spend for your Pod. You'll lead creative strategy, direct a team of 4 video editors and 1 graphic designer, and work side by side with media buying to systematically turn insights into scalable ads.

This is a high-bar role inside a serious operating environment. You'll have ownership, trust, and resources - but you'll also be held to a high standard. If you want to work on a brand where creative decisions actually matter and are tied directly to results, this is the seat.

What You'll Own

Creative Strategy & Direction

  • Own paid social creative strategy across Meta, TikTok, and AppLovin
  • Define angles, hooks, formats, and testing priorities by channel
  • Work directly with the Content team to ensure the right asset pipeline
  • Translate performance data into clear, creative direction
  • Continuously evolve strategy based on results, not opinions

Creative Briefing & Execution

  • Write 4 detailed video briefs per day for video editors
  • Write 3 detailed static ad briefs per day for the graphic designer
  • Provide same-day feedback on all creative output
  • Briefs must include: clear objective/hypothesis, hook direction, script, messaging guidance, visual references, and naming conventions
  • You're expected to write scripts independently (with access to internal copywriters for complex topics)

Team Leadership

  • Manage and direct a team of 5 creatives (4 editors, 1 designer)
  • Ensure consistent output, quality, and speed
  • Give clear, direct feedback quickly
  • Raise the creative bar over time

Performance & Analytics

  • Review performance daily with media buyers
  • Understand core metrics: CPA, CTR, hold rate, thumb-stop, creative fatigue
  • Navigate Facebook Ads Manager independently to pull insights
  • Identify winning patterns and scale them systematically

Copy & Messaging

  • Write short-form ad copy and scripts
  • Ensure creative and copy work together across the funnel
  • Collaborate with internal copywriters on longer or complex scripts
  • Deep understanding of direct response copywriting principles
  • Diagnose why copy works or fails, not just whether it works
  • Provide actionable feedback to improve hooks, clarity, and conversion

Process & Systems

  • Build creative testing frameworks and repeatable processes
  • Establish ideation, testing, feedback, and iteration loops
  • Enforce naming conventions for clean tracking and analysis
  • Create feedback systems that continuously improve output


What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent improvement in creative performance metrics (CPA, CTR, hold rate)
  • Steady pipeline of winning ads scaling across channels
  • Team producing high-quality output daily with clear systems in place
  • Creative testing framework driving measurable revenue impact


Requirements

Must Have:

  • Proven track record creating performance-driven paid social creative at scale
  • Deep expertise with Meta ads, TikTok ads, and creative testing methodologies
  • Management experience directing editors and designers (not just making ads yourself)
  • Analytical + creative thinking - you can do both simultaneously
  • Facebook Ads Manager proficiency - comfortable pulling insights independently
  • Extremely high output - consistent daily execution is non-negotiable
  • Strong written communication - especially in creative briefs
  • Ownership mindset - you don't wait to be told what to do
  • Direct response copywriting expertise - can write, edit, and diagnose what works


Work Requirements

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST
