Senior Full-Stack Java/Angular Developer with Release Management Experience

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Java/Angular Developer with release management experience for an European Institution in Brussels.

Candidates need to be based in Belgium or willing to relocate to Brussels, when coming from abroad.

EU candidates are welcome to apply. Work permit is not provided.

This position is long-term. Candidates need to be fluent in English.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based web applications using Spring / Spring Boot;
• Implement and expose RESTful APIs for integration with internal and external systems;
• Develop and maintain complex information systems, ensuring scalability, performance and security;
• Participate in system architecture and technical design decisions;
• Apply object-oriented design principles and best practices;

• Develop and maintain frontend components using Angular or Kendo UI;
• Integrate frontend applications with backend REST APIs;
• Plan and coordinate release schedules across multiple development teams and product lines;
• Manage release pipelines, deployment automation and environment coordination;
• Facilitate communication between development, QA, operations and business stakeholders;
• Oversee quality gates, testing phases, and release readiness assessments;
• Coordinate rollback procedures and incident response during deployment issues;
• Maintain release documentation, process improvements, and lessons learned;

Profile:

• Bachelor or Master degree;

• +8 years of development experience;
• +6 years of experience with Java web application development (of which, at least 3 years of development experience with Java Spring and REST API development);
• Experience in development of complex information systems;
• +3 years of experience in Frontend development using Angular or Kendo UI;
• +2 years of experience with Agile software development (refactoring, test-driven development, user story modelling);
• Release management experience;
• Good knowledge of Atlassian systems (Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence);
• Good knowledge of Maven, Docker, Junit;
• Great understanding of SDLC;
• DevOps principles;
• CI/CD;
• Release orchestration tools (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, AWS/Azure DevOps);
• Exp with Version control systems (Git);
• Exp with Issue tracking (Jira or similar);
• Fluent in English;
