Job Description: Data Analyst โ€“ Finance (FP&A) | 100% Remote

Contract Length: 6 months minimum (high likelihood of extension/conversion)

Location: 100% Remote

Team: Finance Analytics & Data Product Team

Interview Process: 2 rounds 30 minutes each

About The Role

CAVA is seeking a Data Analyst (Contract) to support our Finance (FP&A) organization by building analytical assets, transforming financial data, and partnering closely with our data product team. This analyst will play a critical role in enabling better forecasting, planning, and performance reporting through highโ€‘quality analytics and data products.

This is a highly collaborative role within our Finance Scrum Team, working alongside one full-time analyst and a broader sixโ€‘person agile team as it scales. Due to rapid growth and increased analytical demand, there is a two-year backlog of work, making this an excellent opportunity for long-term engagement.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with FP&A stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Build analytical assets and data products supporting forecasting, budgeting, and financial performance.
  • Write complex SQL queries to join, transform, and structure data from multiple sources.
  • Develop and maintain tables, pipelines, and notebooks in Databricks (Lakehouse / Delta architecture).
  • Work with loyalty, sales, and financial datasets to create consolidated analytical tables.
  • Collaborate with data product team members within a data mesh architecture.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies as part of the Finance Scrum team.
  • Support month-end processes and automate recurring FP&A workflows.
  • Build dashboards or visual insights using Tableau (nice to have).

  • Delivering clean, reliable datasets for FP&A to support faster and more accurate financial decisions.
  • Reducing manual reporting by automating high-impact workflows.
  • Helping the finance team scale with data products that improve forecasting and visibility.
  • Enabling the business to make better decisions based on timely, high-quality insights.


Required Skills & Experience (Top Must-Haves)

  • 3โ€“5 years of hands-on data analytics experience.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency (writing complex joins, transformations, aggregations).
  • Experience working with Databricks (notebooks, workflows, Delta / Lakehouse).
  • Experience building analytical datasets end-to-end.


Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Python for data manipulation.
  • Prior FP&A or accounting experience.
  • Experience working within a data mesh architecture.
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other BI tools.
  • Experience in Snowflake (transferable skills).


Experience in financial services or finance data (industry is flexible).

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
