Senior Data Scientist

Our Independent Energy and Commodity Trading client is looking to hire a Senior Data Scientist.

Location: Must be willing to Relocate to Houston, Texas (Relocation Package Available)

4 Days Onsite in Houston, Texas

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and models to solve complex business problems such as predictive models, recommendation systems, and anomaly detection.
• Utilize and integrate LLMs such as GPT and BERT for sentiment analysis, automated report generation, market news analysis to enhance trading decisions.
• Provide strategic insights that contribute to our business growth and innovation.
• Work cross functionally with teams to identify business challenges and opportunities that can be addressed using data analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques.

Requirements:

• 7 to 10 years of Data Science work experience (Education/Research experience doesn't count towards this)
• 3 years of industry background in energy, oil, power, or gas
• Must have experience with energy commodities trading
• Proficiency in Python with libraries like Scikit-Learn, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, etc
• Advanced SQL proficiency
• Experience with developing enterprise level Machine Learning, AI, and LLM models and application with cloud-based micro-services such as AWS Lambda, S3, ECR, Sagemaker, etc.
• Must have AWS cloud experience
