Position Overview

At Aegis, the Project Manager for power supply design plays a pivotal role at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, sales, and customer engagement, guiding projects from concept through production while coordinating technical teams, managing schedules and budgets, and ensuring products meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. Serving as a true jack‑of‑all‑trades, the PM balances technical decision‑making with cross‑functional coordination and delivery planning, often stepping in to bridge gaps and help keep projects on track when timelines begin to slip.

The ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with an understanding of electronics development and manufacturing enviornments.

This position is based in Murphy, NC. Relocation assistance provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from initiation through completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and close-out
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
  • Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and material procurement
  • Monitor project performance and maintain on-time delivery commitments
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and customers regarding project status
  • Facilitate communication across teams to resolve technical or operational roadblocks
  • Track and report project performance metrics to leadership

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
  • 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or electronics environments
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification preferred
  • Experience managing technical projects involving electronics or hardware development
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, datasheets, and technical specifications
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, RoHS)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar project management tools
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience working with power electronics, PCB design, or embedded hardware systems
  • Familiarity with hardware development life cycles and engineering change processes
  • Experience coordinating prototype builds, testing, and product qualification
  • Working knowledge of engineering design tools such as Altium, SolidWorks, or similar CAD platforms
  • Experience supporting projects within defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing environments
