The municipality of Stichtse Vecht is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the CIO Office team. In this role, you will play a central role in the ongoing development of the Azure data platform and the Data-Driven Working and AI program.
Together with your colleagues in the CIO Office, you will ensure that all municipal employees have access to the right data and BI products, enabling them to perform their work efficiently. The data platform, together with the BI application, forms the core to meet the organization’s information needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain ELT pipelines and data models from multiple municipal data sources.
- Create high-quality datasets for BI reporting, policy insights, and AI applications.
- Contribute to the architecture and ongoing development of the data platform.
- Participate in discussions on standards, data modeling, data quality, privacy, and governance.
- Act as an analytical partner for analysts, product owners, and stakeholders.
- Ensure that data extraction is carried out securely and responsibly, in collaboration with vendors, hosting partners, and the ICT architect.
- Model data using Data Vault, Kimball, and/or Inmon methodologies.
- Implement privacy measures (anonymization and pseudonymization).
- Support platform management, access control, and mentor less experienced colleagues.

What We Expect From You
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ICT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL.
- Experience with dbt and Unity Catalog is a plus.
- Experience with API integrations and Python.
- Knowledge of BI, data governance, and security.
- Extensive experience with data platforms and data modeling.
- Demonstrable knowledge of GDPR, privacy, and data protection.
- Experience in government or public sector organizations is a plus.
