Full-time | New York (on-site) | $140K–$200K + Equity | Visa Sponsorship Available
A fast-growing applied AI startup is looking for a backend-leaning Software Engineer to lead the development of integrations that embed advanced AI capabilities directly into the platforms customers already use.
This role focuses on building and maintaining integrations across ecosystems like learning platforms, hiring tools, and other workflow systems. You’ll work closely with product and platform partners to bring powerful AI technology into real-world environments.
What you’ll do

• Design and build integrations that embed AI capabilities into third-party platforms
• Work across the LMS ecosystem (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace) using standards such as LTI, REST APIs, and platform extensions
• Expand integrations into adjacent ecosystems such as ATS platforms, publication/workflow systems, and trust & safety tooling
• Own integrations end-to-end — architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
• Build within a Python/Django backend and React frontend stack
• Navigate complex or poorly documented systems and reverse-engineer platform behavior when needed
• Partner with platform providers to secure sandbox access and manage integration approvals

• Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing technical support
Who they’re looking for
• 2–5 years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer
• Strong experience with Python and backend system design
