Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Employee Relations Counselor, North America through 3/ 24 /2026 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time Zone.
This role is located in Houston, Texas and follows a flexible schedule with four days in the office and a hybrid option on Fridays. We also offer a 9/80 schedule for eligible employees, providing every other Friday off.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Start-to-finish handling of investigative processes including intake, strategic planning, conducting interviews, data (evidence) gathering and analysis, report writing, updating case management systems, involving stakeholders and providing updates.
- Provide consultative services to business management at all levels on topics including performance management, discipline, and other corrective actions.
- Facilitate dispute and conflict resolution processes.
- Partner with other Chevron organizations pertaining to work assignments (e.g., Employment Law, Global Security, IT Forensics, Labor Relations, Ombuds).
- Represent Chevron through professional organizations to benchmark and understand external ER-related matters, best practices, processes, and tools.
- Attend unemployment claims appeal hearings as a Chevron representative.
- Lead and/or support special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5+ years of experience as a neutral fact finder, facilitator of conflict and/or dispute resolution discussions, analytical and technical writer, and presenter.
- Practical application of organizational policies and processes and employment laws.
- Strong attention to detail including demonstrated expertise analyzing and summarizing relevant facts appropriate for intended audience.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of personnel effectively and timely.
- Demonstrated independent decision-making ability, prioritization skills, and project planning and management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to travel, estimated up to 10% of the time.
- Proficiency with Microsoft products including Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Co-Pilot.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of HR systems, processes, and best practices typically gained through experience handling workplace matters related to HR (e.g., managing performance, progressive discipline, conflicts, inappropriate behaviors and misconduct including allegations of discrimination or harassment) at a large corporation or a firm supporting large corporations with a union presence.
- Good understanding of federal employment laws (e.g., Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA); familiarity with state employment laws.
