We are seeking a hands-on Kong Architect to support API platform expansion and migration initiatives. This role focuses on building automation, supporting application onboarding, and migrating integrations to the Kong platform within AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support Kong-based API management solutions.
- Guide application teams through API onboarding and migration to Kong.
- Build and maintain Terraform modules for automated API provisioning and repository creation.
- Troubleshoot API migration issues across the full SDLC lifecycle.
- Analyze existing DataPower integrations and support migration to AWS landing zones.
- Review architecture submissions and ensure alignment with API platform standards.
- Support high-volume intake requests as teams onboard to the Kong platform.

- 4+ years of strong hands-on experience with Kong API Gateway.
- Deep understanding of OpenAPI specifications and API architecture.
- Experience with networking, load balancing, and traffic flow within cloud environments.
- Expertise in AWS landing zones and transit gateway architecture.
- Strong experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- DevOps automation experience, particularly with GitHub Actions.
- Experience building self-service automation for API creation and migration.
