About the Role
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer to join our growing team at a US-based Managed Service Provider. This is a fully remote role supporting a variety of small to mid-sized business clients across the United States.
The ideal candidate will have strong endpoint management experience with BigFix, as well as server administration and backup management experience, preferably with Axcient. You will play a key role in maintaining client environments, resolving technical issues, and ensuring systems remain secure, backed up, and operational.
This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced MSP environment, communicating with clients, and collaborating with a distributed technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide remote IT support for servers, endpoints, and infrastructure across multiple client environments.
- Manage and maintain endpoint patching, deployment, and compliance using BigFix.
- Monitor and support server environments (Windows Server primarily).
- Administer and monitor backup systems, preferably Axcient, ensuring backups complete successfully and performing restore testing when needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve L2/L3 technical issues related to operating systems, networks, and applications.
- Assist with server maintenance, upgrades, and system performance monitoring.
- Work with the team to proactively identify and remediate infrastructure issues.
- Document troubleshooting steps, procedures, and client environments.
- Escalate complex issues when required and collaborate with senior engineers.
- Provide excellent customer service to end users and client IT contacts.

Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5+ years of IT support experience, ideally within an MSP environment.
- Hands-on experience with BigFix for endpoint management, patching, or deployment.
- Experience supporting Windows Server environments.
- Knowledge of backup solutions and backup management processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows OS, networking issues, and endpoint systems.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure fundamentals (servers, networking, backups, patching).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience
- Experience with Axcient backup solutions.
- Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP).
- Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.

- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
